Book Signing at 'Midleton Books' on Saturday July 21st

Mairead had a signing of 'Absolute Beginners' at Midleton Books on Saturday
July 21st. There was a great turnout, and thanks again to all for coming out
to support the new book. A special thanks to my fellow writers
Mary O'Sullivan, Mary Malone and Renata Murphy for the support on the day.

Official Launch
On Saturday evening, July 21st, we held an official launch party in Midleton Books
for my second book, Absolute Beginners. The book-store was packed with family,
friends and supporters who enjoyed the champagne and strawberries.
Again, thanks for the support from all who came along. Especially, thanks to Ronan,
Jess and Aisling from Midleton Books for the use of the shop for the launch.

My New novel, 'Absolute Beginners' was released on 14thJuly 2007.

Summary of the book:
Lucy Dalton wants to escape her frumpy, mundane life. Her
job is boring, her social life non-existent and her mother is still
trying to make her into the wonderful daughter she's always
dreamed of. Pampered Rosa Mooney is a walking disaster at
whatever career she tries. Sick of being treated like a child, she
is determined to be taken seriously at last. Kate Lewis has fled
her old life for the tranquillity of running a small health store,
having blown her chance at happiness. But can she heal her
guilt for a tragedy in her past? And Agnes Cotter has been at
the beck and call of bullying sister Beatrice for years. The
genteel persona that she presents to the world masks a life of
drudgery and bitterness.
None of them expect, when they sign up for a gourmet
cookery course, that learning to cook will be the best therapy
any of them could ever hope for.

Well this is probably the calm before the storm at the moment.
My second book - Absolute Beginners - will be released nationwide
on July 14th! Hopefully it will be as successful as Pebble Cove.

Thanks to everyone who bought Pebble Cove, and helped it to a
high of number three on the Irish Mass Market Fiction chart.
Never, in my wildest dreams did I ever think when I was tapping
away at the computer at my first book, that it would be read
by thousands of people all over Ireland (and beyond).

Special thanks to everyone who took the trouble to send me an email,
telling me how much they enjoyed the book. You don't realise
how much of a boost it is to get an email from someone I never met,
to say they enjoyed the book.

Book signing at Midleton Books on Saturday 23rd December 2006

Thanks to everyone who came to todays book signing at Midleton Books.
It was a fantastic day, and I was delighted to see so many familiar faces.
Apologies to anyone who didn't get to buy a book.
There was such an unexpected crowd, that the book sold out before the end of the signing.

Happy Holidays!
