My Story

I was born in Ballycumber, Co. Offaly where my parents Andy and Christina Hackett still live. I trained as a general nurse at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin and later as a midwife at the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, where I also qualified as a neo-natal intensive care nurse.

In 1999, I moved to Cork and worked for a number of years in the neo-natal unit at the Bon Secours Hospital. I now work as a Public Health Nurse with HSE South in Midleton, Co. Cork.

I live in Aghada, Midleton with my husband, Leonard and baby son Tim.

My first novel,
Pebble Cove, was released in December, 2006, and reached number three in the Irish Mass Market Fiction charts. Absolute Beginners, was released in July 2007, followed by Where the Heart Is in 2008, which reached number three in the Irish charts.
