About Mariead

Mairead O'Driscoll was born in Ballycumber, Co. Offaly where her parents still live.
She trained as a general nurse at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin and later as a midwife at
the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, where she also qualified as a neo-natal
intensive care nurse.

She moved to Cork in 1999 and worked for a number of years in
the neo-natal unit at the Bon Secours Hospital. Mairead now works
as a Public Health Nurse in Midleton, Co. Cork.

She lives in Aghada, Midleton with her husband, Leonard.

Pebble Cove, her first novel, was released in December, 2006, and reached number
three in the Irish Mass Market Fiction charts.

Mairead's second novel, Absolute Beginners, will be in the shops from July 14th, 2007.
